This year’s flagship S&CA Treasure Hunt event will be: ‘The Highland Dames’
The organiser for the Highland Dames is Jackie Thompson, skippering Temptress with her organising committee of Sarah Carter and Vikki Burridge.
The format will comprise an action packed series of prize-winning events on both water and shore so bring your fitness and stamina! All of the events will take place somewhere in or around eastern Solent and the yachts will return to their home berths on Sunday 25th June.
Further details of the daytime activities will be revealed on 24th June to skippers by WhatsApp Group messages.
The evening activity will be a Scottish themed fancy dress gala dinner at ‘Dunroamin Castle’ where we will dance the night away to all the hits of the summer Ibiza Club style.
We hope it will be a fun packed and exciting day with nautical challenges and drinking for each team consisting of a vessel and her crew. Victorious vessel crews will enjoy the spoils of war for winning various challenges. After dinner prizes will be awarded to the teams with best achievements through the day, and a special prize will go to the person wearing the most inventive Highlander ensemble. Pack your Sporrans!
Spaces are limited and we advise early registration to avoid disappointment. Registration costs £40 per person (for which each individual is responsible) and this will include a welcome drink and dinner at ‘Dunroamin Castle’. Each vessel will be responsible for catering for other meals.
Please kindly observe the following requirements on registration:
Skippers: On registration, please advise the name, type of vessel (motor or yacht), length and draught of your vessel as well as a telephone number which will be used to communicate instructions over WhatsApp group consisting of other skippers attending the event. This number may also be given to the relevant berthing authority. You will be responsible for settling any berthing fees directly with the relevant berthing authority.
Crew: Crew are responsible for contacting and making arrangements with each skipper and to seek skippers’ agreement to join their vessel for this event prior to registration. We advise making use of crew match Facebook group.
If attending by land, please advise so that we can make separate arrangements with you.
If there are any questions, please feel free to get in touch with Jackie or the organising committee.
