We are taking advantage of the Easter Bank Holiday weekend and offering members new (and longstanding) an opportunity to refine their sailing skills by joining our Sail & Learn event, which provides for attendees to obtain the formal "Competent Crew" qualification. This is Part 1 of 2, with the other date being over Bank Holiday August.
This event will be hosted by our Rear Commodore Training, Tomas, and our commercial partner, Commodore Yachting (www.commodore-yachting.com) and therefore there will be a (heavily discounted) charge payable to us. At present, Tomas estimates costs of around £300, with a further £300 for Part 2 over the August bank. There are only a maximum of 6 spaces, so this event will operate on a first come first served basis, so please register ASAP. If we reach full capacity, we are likely to organise another such event later in the season.
The event will start on 7 April 2023 at Commodore Yachting's Gosport Offices, whereby Tomas will spend time with the attendees familiarising them with their boat and preparing for the days ahead. Please be able to arrive late afternoon/evening of 6 April 2023. Accommodation on the yacht and training is included. You will return to Gosport on 9 April 2023.
Your skipper, Tomas, will then be in charge for the weekend and ensure attendees gain as much experience on the water as possible.
In addition, it is hoped that Tomas will bring the training boat and all attendees along to the far larger members' event, the Easter Rally.
