An open invite to join a Cruise in Company over approximately two weeks to the West Country rivers.
In several previous years a number of skippers have got together on an informal basis and headed to the beautiful rivers and coastline of the West Country. Last year, when Covid struck the club's south coast plans, a number of members headed west on an open invite cruise in company.
For 2021 I would like to promote this again as a club event. There will be a core 'official' itinerary, with dates and destinations, but it is also intended that others may join for smaller parts of the trip, according to their availability, or as part of their own holiday cruising plans.
The dates are currently provisional, fitted in between the Treasure Hunt and the Ryde Pride event. The actual core itinerary is likely to be for approximately 2 weeks in between these dates.
The intention in 2021 is to explore mainly the Cornish Rivers further west from those visited in 2020, probably with a stop on the outward or return leg at Portland or Lulworth Cove.
Probable destinations will be: Salcolbe, River Yealm, Plymouth, River Fowey, Falmouth and River Fal, Helford River and maybe as far as Mount's Bay.
The Committee intends that club events will go ahead wherever possible in 2021, and the planned events are not intended to be cancelled unless they are clearly prohibited by government restrictions.
All events will be run as 'Cruise in Company'. All participants must comply with and be individually responsible for relevant guidance or regulations such as socially distancing, maximum group sizes and household mixing during any interaction of crew groups.
It will be the responsibility of individual skippers to comply with relevant guidance or regulations in respect of crewing arrangements and the safety of their crews. This includes, but is not limited to - hygiene precautions, social distancing, group sizes and mixing of households on board.
Due to the uncertainty over Covid risks and restrictions at the time of the event, activities and catered dining arrangements (Plan A) are subject to change or cancellation. Crews will need to be prepared for a Plan B of switching to an open air BBQ in individual crew groups or catering on board for example.
All attendees must be registered for the event for track and trace purposes.
