Fowey Cornwall England UK on a map. Fowey Cornish: Fowydh, meaning `Beech Trees` is a small town, civil parish and cargo port at the mouth of the River Fowey in stock photoAn open invite to join a flexible Cruise in Company over approximately two weeks around the West Country rivers.

In several previous years a number of skippers have got together on an informal basis and headed to the beautiful rivers and coastline of the West Country.  Last year, when Covid struck the club's south coast plans, a number of members headed west on an open invite cruise in company.

For 2021 I would like to promote this again as a club event.  There will be a core 'official' itinerary, with dates and destinations, but it is also intended that others may join for smaller parts of the trip, according to their availability, or as part of their own holiday cruising plans.

Registering for this event is an expression of interest to join all or part of a westward cruise.  We will set up a Whatsapp group to coordinate plans between crews.

THE PLAN

The intention in 2021 is to explore mainly the Cornish Rivers further west from those visited in 2020.

Provisional Core Itinerary

Saturday 26th June Plymouth

Sunday 27th - Monday 28th June Salcombe

Tuesday 29th - Wednesday 30th June River Yealm

Thursday 1st - Friday 2nd July  Fowey

Saturday 3rd - Sunday 4th July River Fal

Monday 5th - Tuesday 6th July Helford River

Wednesday 7th - Thursday 8th July Looe

Friday 9th July Plymouth

COVID NOTE

The Committee intends that club events will go ahead wherever possible in 2021, and the planned events are not intended to be cancelled unless they are clearly prohibited by government restrictions.

All events will be run as 'Cruise in Company'.  All participants must comply with and be individually responsible for relevant guidance or regulations such as socially distancing,  maximum group sizes and household mixing during any interaction of crew groups.

It will be the responsibility of individual skippers to comply with relevant guidance or regulations in respect of crewing arrangements and the safety of their crews.  This includes, but is not limited to - hygiene precautions, social distancing, group sizes and mixing of households on board.

Due to the uncertainty over Covid risks and restrictions at the time of the event, activities and catered dining arrangements (Plan A) are subject to change or cancellation.  Crews will need to be prepared for a Plan B of switching to an open air BBQ in individual crew groups or catering on board for example.

All attendees must be registered for the event for track and trace purposes.

ANYONE EXPERIENCING COVID SYMPTOMS MUST NOT ATTEND
