Registration

Registration is closed

This year's Treasure Hunt was due to be held on the weekend of 12th June. Due to Covid restrictions, this has sadly had to be postponed until next year. The event will now be a cruise in company (to what would have been the secret final destination)..... Island Harbour.

THE PLAN:  Saturday 12th June: For those who want an earlier start, boats could meet for a mid morning swim and early lunch at anchor in Osborne Bay, before making their way to Island Harbour.

For those who have not been to Island Harbour, it is a peaceful marina located south of the Folly Inn in the River Medina (Isle of Wight). Island Harbour Marina – A Unique Waterside Lifestyle (island-harbour.co.uk)

Boats registered will be booked into Island Harbour Marina by the club.  On approach skippers will need to radio Island Harbour VHF80. High water is at 13.30, please be aware this marina has a lock and is not accessible at all states of the tide.  In general for a 1.8m yacht, access through the lock is approx. 2hours either side of  HW. Free flow does operates approx. 30 mins either side of HW. Island harbour is about 30minute motor upstream from Cowes, so please allow yourself sufficient time to get up to the marina.

There is no formal evening plan due to Covid restrictions on numbers.  However there are several dining options - self cater on boats, eat at the onsite restaurant called The Breeze, take a short walk to the Folly Inn pub, or there is also a communal BBQ area that members can use. It is up to individuals/boats on which option you choose.

We strongly suggest you book the Breeze or Folly Inn at your earliest opportunity if you wanted eat in a restaurant. There is no need to reserve the BBQ area.

Newport is about a 30 minute walk up the riverside path for those who want to explore further up the river, or visit the shops and pubs there. There are no shops onsite at Island Harbour.

Skippers - Please take note of access/tide restrictions. The club has reserved 15 berths, which will be allocated in order of registration.  There is a registration cut off date of 28th May, as the marina needs final boat numbers by this date.  As there is no formal evening plan, it will not matter if your crew numbers change after this date. However all crew must register themselves for track and trace reasons.
