Following the success of the club virtual social meeting last week, we are going to extend this to a weekly occurence, until such time as better days do return, using the Zoom video platform to add a virtual bar to the S&CA's virtual clubhouse.
‘The Bovill Arms’, named for our founding Commodore, will be open on Tuesday 14th April at 1900 BST, hosted by Philip and Lionel, our newly elected Rear Commodore London Social and Rear Commodore Mediterranean, respectively.
The following week and every week thereafter, the bar will open on a Wednesday. Depending on demand and it’s success, The Bovill Arms will stay open each week for around two hours. But if, other than the resident landlord, which will be at least one committee member (Phil Partington and/or I initially) on rotation, there is nobody in the bar by 1930, it will close. So you are encouraged to arrive early.
Obviously the intention is to use The Bovill Arms to keep spirits up, so please be mindful of this. We expect everyone visiting the bar to treat everyone with the same kindness and respect as you would at a regular face to face club event, as per the club Code of Conduct.
Joining details will be included in the confirmation email when you register for this event.
