The 2018 South-Coast Easter rally will be a 4 day event, packed full of At-Sea adventures.
DAY 1 - Good Friday
We will meet at Town Quay Marina, Southampton, where arrangements have been made for us all to moor alongside their visitors' pontoon, Marina management have assured us we will all receive a 10% berthing discount, plus access to shore power. Yacht Kayos will meet and greet you all.
To celebrate the first day of our get together and to try something different we will have a group American style supper on the marina site. Each boat will be asked to supply dishes of their choice from around the world, to form a surprise S&CA feast. We will then all dig in ‘Hungry Bunny Style’.
Following recent talks with the RNLI, we hope to welcome an LGBT guest speaker. It is planned for this volunteer to join us late afternoon/early evening for a few hours, to offer advice and for us to benefit from their wealth of knowledge by asking any questions we may have. In return, we have invited them to share with us our first ever S&CA American style supper.
DAY 2 - Easter Saturday
This will be a late morning departure as we head round to Lymington. The group visitors' pontoon has been reserved for us at ‘Lymington Yacht Haven’ marina. Their rally coordinator have assured access to shore power. There will be no set dining plans for this particular evening, allowing members to select where and how they choose to eat.
DAY 3 - Easter Sunday
This day.... Will we all awake to an abundance of chocolate eggs, left for us by those Lymington bunnies what lurk around the pontoons at night?
After our early gorge, it will be a morning tide towards Bembridge. HW is at 12:47. Access to shore power and a 5% berthing discount has been assured,
Upon arrival, if you have energy and the appetite, you can choose whether you wish to take up the wonderful opportunity to explore Bembridge lifeboat station. It has been negotiated by the S&CA for an RNLI volunteer to be on site between 11:00-16:00 to welcome and answer any questions. Their RNLI gift shop and the nearby ‘Lifeboat View’ café will be open for you to relax in.
The evening arrangements will have us all barbecuing as a group within the ‘Host Tent’ at Bembridge marina, which overlooks the water. We have secured exclusive access to this area.
DAY 4 - Easter Monday
At their own leisure, Members will be waving goodbye, holding back the tears as they depart Bembridge. HW is at 13:31 (Spring high tide).
TO NOTE
Each day, you will be kindly asked to donate just £1 to take part in that day's mini charity activity. Unbelievable prizes will be waiting to be won. So ensure your wallets and purses are bulging with pound coins. All money raised over our 4 day party will be presented to the RNLI at Bembridge Lifeboat Station on Easter Monday.
A wonderful prize will be awarded to the member who proves most responsive with myself, from the point of signing up to this event.
Members who wish to attend any of the days by land are always welcome.
Members who are unable to attend the full 4 day period but only certain days, will also be very welcome, but be sure to inform me of this so I confirm the correct numbers in all the overnight locations.
