A WINTER TREAT
It is not often that we set a weekend aside for a Winter Rally, but after listening to members feedback, it was apparent that many of you would be keen to observe a chilly, adventurous get together, during the month where temperatures really are starting to dip.
This is purely designed to be a relaxed gathering following a hopeful, vibrant sail across to Cowes. No doubt, the majority of you will have those sails up taking advantage of the winter wind.
Arrangements have been made for winter rate berthing at the much loved ‘Cowes Yacht Haven‘ Marina, so attendees are close to town shops, bars and cafes. I will be responsible for booking vessels into the marina for skippers, when a boat has registered.
The dining element will have a special twist. Because the S&CA are regulars at the popular ‘Island Harbour Sailing club’, their management team have kindly offered us a private dining room with an exclusive Spanish tapas theme menu. We will be served a set wide range of Spanish dishes, including mixed Paella, for the fixed price of £21.50 per diner (to be paid on the night). The food on offer will include vegetarian options. Shhhhhh..... Santa Claus has been in contact with me, he has heard about this event and is excited to hear that the S&CA are meeting up just a few weeks prior to Crimbo. He has promised me, he will visit the Island Sailing Club the night before, to leave a little something Christmassy for each attendee.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
1.Register your attendance via the S&CA website by Sunday 4th November
2.Visit the Facebook CrewMatch page for all crewing opportunities
3.Upon arrival, skippers will be required to contact the Cowes Yacht Haven for specific instructions. (please state you are part of the S&CA/Sailing&Cruising Association Rally).
4.You can bring along friends, but remember to ‘add guest’ at the point of your registration
