The plan will, as always, be subject to the weather but the intention is as follows:
Saturday 26 August: Cruise from home ports to Studland Bay. Depending on arrival times there will be an opportunity to relax in the bay either on land or afloat. In the evening we will have a barbecue on South Beach.
Sunday 27 August: An opportunity to explore the Jurassic Coast on foot or on water. Alternatively, if the weather permits; a day on the stunning beaches of the bay and a few games and dinghy races.
We will of course have a wet weather programme, including a mini treasure hunt around Poole Harbour.
In the evening, crews are welcome to make their own eating arrangements but we would encourage everyone to meet at The Bankes Arms, Studland Village for a few drinks in the evening (we have a tradition of taking over the upper bar!)
Monday 28 August: Cruise back to home ports, departing in line with the relevant tides for your type of craft.
Fuller details will be provided to confirmed attendees in due course including preferred Radio Channel for the event, Whatsapp group, local port info etc.
Boats, Skippers and Crews
Can skippers intending to join the rally please forward details of their boat and crew, also letting me know if they have room for additional crew members (I have a list of three people wishing to crew already).
Due to a few technical issues please send messages direct to me at (personal e-mail address in the Membership Directory) and not the power@gaysailing account as that is not currently working.
Whilst we are not aware of any charter boat availability at this time, we do have a qualified skipper who wishes to attend the event, so if we can get the numbers up then there may be an option of a last minute charter deal.
Others who wish to attend should also message and we will do our utmost to accommodate you.
