Following the success of the LUS 2019 at the Royal Naval Club and Royal Albert Yacht Club in Portsmouth, it is also the venue for the 2020 South Coast EoS Dinner. Since so many members are berthed in Portsmouth Harbour, we will have a race in the Solent to make sure that everyone gets out on the water.
Haslar marina have generously offered free berthing for the Saturday night for up to three boats berthed at Premiere next door (first come first served max 40' - there may still be a small charge for electricity). Haslar residents will also be able to move to the rally pontoon outside the lightship.
This event will be ideal for new and novice sailors to join Portsmouth based skippers for the day sail. Also for land based participants who may be able to find berths on board for the Saturday night.
HW Portsmouth 11:17 on Saturday
THE PLAN
Friday 30th October
We have reserved four visitors berths at Haslar for members wanting to join on the Friday night. Please contact the organizer upon registration if you want to use one of these spaces.
Saturday 31st October
Home ports to Dean & Reddyhoff's Gosport Haslar Marina or daysail at 10am from Portsmouth Harbour.
Gathering at Haslar by late afternoon we will have drinks onboard before taking the ferry to Portsmouth together and walking to the yacht club.
Despite the apparent anomalies of sail and power participants, and completely different courses, a state of the art, and flawlessly fair, S&CA handicap system has been developed to calculate the race winners and losers!
Whether making their way to Portsmouth Harbour from home ports, or participating in the day sail, skippers will record various details about their passage. Race competition entries will be judged and prizes awarded at the evening dinner.
The evening dinner at the Royal Naval Club and Royal Albert Yacht Club is £30 for a three course set menu, payable on registration.

Leek, wild mushroom and green pea risotto, truffle oil, crispy croute
